'Imam of Peace' Says Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock is An ‘Obstacle to Peace’

Note from Pastor Kevin: This is one view of a certain sect of orthodox Jews, who base this view on the belief that the Ezekiel 40-48 temple can only be brought to earth by the Messiah.  To put it simply, “when Messiah comes, He will build”.  Dispensational Christian prophecy teachers agree with them in that when Jesus returns to establish His thousand year reign on earth, He will be bringing this “fourth” temple, which will come after the third temple that will be build during the lead up to the tribulation period.
 
Another prominent view among other non-Christian orthodox Jews (Temple Institute, Temple Mount, Land of Israel Faithful) is that God is expecting the Jews to build the third temple by faith and then Messiah will come. This view is consistent with what will actually take place according to the prophetic scriptures (Daniel 9, Matthew 24, 2 Thes 2, Rev 11).  As this third temple is allowed to be rebuilt by a future global government leader, the Jews will be deceived into thinking this leader must be the long-awaited messiah (but who will actually be the antichrist). But as Daniel and Jesus predicted, after 3.5 years, the antichrist will turn against the Jews and attempt to finish the goals of Hitler’s holocaust (the Great Tribulation).

“The third temple, we believe… will descend from heaven complete, and God, who is Almighty, will do it by Himself, without any human effort,” continued Kedar. “And this is why we do nothing against the Dome of the Rock and against the mosque, which is in the southern part,” he said, differentiating the golden dome from the silver-tipped Al-Aqsa mosque.
