'How-to-be-homo'
seminar canceled
Posted: May 15,
2008 Note from Pastor Kevin Lea follows this
article. A seminar that essentially was to provide
information to impressionable school-age boys on how to be homosexual was
canceled, according to a pro-family organization monitoring the plans,
following WND's report on the developing situation. The seminar called "Queer, Questioning,
Quiet: Developing Gender & Male Sexual Orientation" had been
promoted by the Boys to Men organization in Officials with the Christian Civic League of
Maine, however, had opposed the plans, and chief Michael Heath told WND earlier the situation was "outrageous." "This is now starting to happen in public schools throughout our state. The public needs to wake up,
become aware, and speak out against it," he said. The Boys to Men website advertisement explained
the outreach was "targeted primarily to middle and high school boys and
their adult male mentors." Speakers were to include officials from the
Maine SpeakOut Project and other homosexual
advocacy groups. But according to a new report in the Christian
Civic League Record, the event was dropped and supporters gave two
explanations for having it cancelled. Bill Gregory, a retired United Church of Christ
minister and member of the Boys to Men board, speculated it was canceled
"due to the presenters not being able to attend" the Civic League
reported. Then Layne Gregory, executive director, cited a
"lack of interest" for the cancellation, the Civic League said. "[The boys' homosexual workshop] was
canceled due to lack of interest, lack of participation," Gregory told
the Civic League. She noted a reporter from that organization "was one
of the only ones" to register. "Boys to Men Americorps
VISTA Program Intern Meghann McCluskey
added more detail to the cancellation explanation stating that there was only
one other person besides the [Civic] League Record reporter who expressed an
interest in attending the boys' homosexual workshop …" the Civic
League reported. "McCluskey
acknowledged that the Boys to Men organization did know about the national
publicity that surrounded the boys' homosexual workshop, primarily through
the League Record's 'Transgender Teaching on Tap for Maine Boys' article and WorldNetDaily.com
'Class for Kids: How to be Homosexual' article. She said the group was not
aware of the more recent 'Homo-Grown Heroes' commentary by Olivia St. John,
also published on WorldNetDaily," the League
reported. Other similar programs, however, were
incorporated into the recent conference, the Civic League said. One was led by a Planned Parenthood
representative and discussed with dozens of young boys, "Real Life. Real
Talk. Sex in the Movies." A Planned Parenthood official encouraged the
pre-teen boys to "take some risks" regarding sex, the Civic League
reported, and handouts included the suggestion asking parents to "Host a
Sex Ed House Party." Heath earlier told WND
he objected to such conferences targeting "impressionable young
boys." "The sad thing is the boys who are least
able to endure this message, this confusion, are the ones they're preying
upon," he said. "I don't think insanity is too strong a word for
it." The event is sponsored by local businesses and
foundations as well as divisions of the state, officials said. WND reported previously on homosexual indoctrination
not by local tax-enhanced foundations but by public schools themselves. This is the time of year when many schools across the country are promoting the "Day of
Silence," a campaign to make students "aware" of the
"discrimination" suffered by homosexuals in society by having
students and teachers remain silent for the day. Such events typically are
organized by a school's "Gay-Straight Alliance" group, but the
"Day of Silence" has been promoted by a special-interest group, the
massively funded Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. WND also reported on the concerted effort by dozens of
organizations to alert parents to the indoctrination effects of such school
observances and urge them to keep their children home from schools during the
events. "It's outrageous that our neighborhood schools would allow homosexual activism to intrude into the
classroom," said Buddy Smith of the American Family Association, one
group on the long list of organizations working to provide information to
parents. "'Day of Silence' is about coercing
students to repudiate traditional morality. It's time for Christian parents
to draw the line – if your children will be exposed to this DOS
propaganda in their school, then keep them home for the day," he said. Note from Pastor Kevin Lea: I praise Jesus that some Christians
decided to be salt and light in successfully apposing this new twist of the Homosexual
agenda in their state schools. I
agree with those who say that we (Christians) better wake up and start
speaking out against Satan’s deceptions, or we will see America
becoming more and more like Sodom and Gomorrah, and the associated judgment
will affect us all. Matt 5:11-14
"Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds
of evil against you falsely for My sake. "Rejoice
and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they
persecuted the prophets who were before you. "You are the salt of the
earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then
good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. "You
are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be
hidden. (NKJ) |
