We meet Tuesday evenings, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, in the same building that our church services are held. I hope this page and others it is linked to help you, the youth of our church, to understand what the mission of our youth group is. The Goal It is our sincerest desire to see each person that we work with in heaven one day. We all face a world that is increasingly hostile towards the teachings of the Bible and especially towards Jesus Christ. The Bible says that the only way you can get to heaven to be with God, and to withstand the things of this world, is by having a saving, faith based, love relationship with Jesus Christ. Also, we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Therefore we teach the Word of God so you may grow in your faith. We have determined, just as Paul did, to not know anything except Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2) because He has proven that He alone is able to give us eternal life. The Youth Group Leader Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, I won’t get into how the Lord led me early in my walk with Him to this verse. I think that it is sufficient to say that this is the verse the Lord gave me as a “job description” if you will, or at least that is how I took it then, and still do today. I try to be aware of the people I work with and for in hope that I might be a blessing to those I am around. Most importantly I try to be patient. It is with this heart that I lead our youth meetings and I try to ensure the other youth leaders have this same heart for you. As such, our desire is that you will see and know that you are loved here. I hope that you will see true Agapé (God given) love in our words of encouragement, our actions, and even our warnings to you. Where the Rubber Meets the Road It is during the teenage years of life that most of us began to form our own opinions and views. You will eventually move from mimicking your parent’s views to establishing your own. It is our hope that our time together in youth group and in the study of God’s word will help you chose the right path for your life. We welcome you to ask tough questions and to expect real answers so that you can hear the truth, and we hope that you will build your own opinions based on the truth. We hope that you will be encouraged by the love you see in us and by the teachings of the Biblical plan of salvation as you ponder the questions of life: Where did I come from? Why am I here? And where am I going? The Bottom Line God bless you, Jeremy Schooler, Youth Leader
